NASCAR decided to cancel qualifying for Sunday’s California 500. The line-up will be determined by owners points and post marks. How does it work, from my provisonal page : In the event of rain, the top 35 positions are based on OWNER points and the rest of the field is filled by former race winner, WC Champion and based on Date/Time on the entry form for the event, in the following order: 1) the first 35 positions are set from current owners points (if it’s one of the 1st four races then it’s the previous season owner points); 2) previous Rockingham winners not included in #1; 3) past champion’s provisional, and; 4) the post-mark date on the team’s entry form for the event
