Kyle Petty is hitting the road after finishing 26th in the California 500. Petty’s annual charity ride will leave Ontario, Calif., on Monday morning and end May 9 at his farm in Trinity, N.C., a journey of 2,863 miles. Along the way, Petty, his father, Richard Petty, the younger Petty’s son, Adam, Ken Schrader, Joe Nemechek, Geoff Bodine and more than 200 other riders will stop at children’s hospitals to present checks, meet with patients and sign autographs. In the ride’s first four years, more than $1 million has been raised.
