Hearing Stanton Barrett and thew #40 ChannelLock team have parted ways(6-15-1999) – UPDATE 1: but I am told by a reader that Barrett was on a radio show(no idea which one) and he said he was testing with the car and didn’t indicate he was gone from the ride. – UPDATE 2 but????? Confirmed – Citing frustration with a break in team continuity, NASCAR driver Stanton Barrett said today he has resigned from the Channellock Chevrolet team owned by Darwin Oordt. Barrett’s comment: ?????We’ve worked hard to build a team here, to work as one unit,???? Barrett explained. ?????They decided they wanted a road course specialist to drive for them at Watkins Glen and, even though that’s just one race, I felt like it would be devastating to what we’ve been trying to build. With my background in IMSA, Indy car testing, Pro Shifter cars and the 24 Hours of Daytona, it just doesn’t make any sense at all to change what we’ve built.????(Williams Co) NO idea who the driver will be, and it didn’t say. Won’t be a Cup guy at the Glen as they are at Sears Point the same day(6-16-1999)
