Mark Armstrong, rear tire changer for the Penske Racing South Miller Lite car driven by Rusty Wallace, returned to Gastonia, N.C., prior to Sunday’s race for the birth of his first child. Armstrong arrived in San Rafael at the hotel Saturday afternoon only to learn that wife Lorie had gone into labor. Front tire carrier Ben Leslie replaced him. In turn, Leslie’s job was picked up by crew chief Robin Pemberton, who had given up his over-the-wall duties last year following surgery on both knees(NOL) Congrats!!
