Cale Yarborough is working to sell part of his team this season. Earlier this year, Yarborough paired with Darlington, S.C., auto dealer Wayne Burdette. But the deal failed, and Yarborough regained control. He signed Universal Studios(Team Woody Woodpecker) as a sponsor in June for his #98 Ford, which is driven by Rick Mast. Yarborough is working with Orlando, Fla., businessman Bob Lane and a host of investors and partnering in ownership. The team plans to make an announcement in September, but Lane and his associates already are working with Yarborough on future plans. Team spokesman Ed Maull said Yarborough’s role with the group would remain crucial. Lane and Yarborough plan to add a second Winston Cup team with ARCA driver Mike Ciochetti, hopefully prior to the end of this season(Times-Dispatch). Also from this weeks Winston Cup Scene – Lane owns Winners Circle, which is not involved with the deal. If this happens, Ciochetti will run up to five races in 1999 and run for ROTY on 2000
