Ricky Rudd says there are two sponsors left in his hunt. One has been talking with the driver for quite some time, and the other just expressed interest in the team. But the owner did learn late last week that NationsRent had opted to go with another team. The owner/driver is trying to work out a sponsor deal for his team, Rudd Performance Motorsports, before mid-September. If he cannot find a sponsor, the owner plans to allow his team members the opportunity to find work elsewhere. At that point, Rudd would have several options. Even if the popular driver was forced to sell his team, Rudds proven ability to win would lead to a number of driving offers in the Winston Cup garage. Still, he is staying focused on finding a sponsor and working out a deal to remain as an owner next season( Times-Dispatch )
