Goodyear is accelerating the introduction of a new-generation Eagle racing tire into NASCARs radial series, following the tire s success at Michigan Speedway in August. Its second appearance is this weekend at Darlington Raceway. Goodyear originally had scheduled the new tire for use at Darlingtons Southern 500 Labor Day weekend and at Richmond, Va., the following weekend, Holmer noted. Now, the company is adding Loudon, N.H., Charlotte, N.C., and Homestead, Fla., into the mix. This new-generation Goodyear tire had been tested for 18 months, and it first competed in a Winston West event this spring at Fontana, Calif. Goodyear is the exclusive tire supplier to NASCAR for its Winston Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series reason enough for the worlds number one racing tire manufacturer to lead the tire technology charge into the new millennium(GoodYear PR)(8-31-999)
