It took the life of a bird, but Geoffrey Bodine has earned another top fifteen start for the #60 Power Team racing team. Bodine ran a quick enough lap in first round qualifying for the Southern 500 at the Darlington Raceway to take the 14th starting position for Sundays event. On his qualifying lap, the Bodines Chevrolet struck a bird with predictably dire results.
