Buckshot Jones, who started the 1999 season running for the Winston Cup rookie of the year title, will return to a full-time schedule next season in the BGN series with the #00 Pontiacs. Jones started the season with intentions of running a full Winston Cup schedule but his team began scaling back its efforts after Jones failed to make several races. He is still planning to run in this season’s Winston 500 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and the season finale at Atlanta. Buckshot Racing, owned by Jones’ father, Billy Jones, is considering fielding two Grand National teams next season and may enter Jones in some Winston Cup events in 2000( That’s Racin’ )
