get many questions on Rick Carelli, who was injured earlier this year in a CTS race, and his team owner sold the team recently, here is some news: Rick Carelli was named Team RE/MAX Racing Crew Chief on Sept. 8. Sidelined by a crash several months ago in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Carelli has been traveling with the team to the last few Winston West races. John Metcalf, who drives the #05 RE/MAX Monte Carlo, says Carelli’s help has been valuable to the team both on and off of the track. Team RE/MAX Racing is currently preparing for the Las Vegas 400 in Nevada on Sept. 25. The Monte Carlo that Metcalf plans to race has been modified to include a different front design. The new design, known as a ?????drop snout,???? will allow the car to turn corners more accurately on the flatter track. The Monte Carlo tested on the track a few weeks ago is being repaired as a backup vehicle(Racing West)(9-20-1999)
