Ernie Irvan, who announced earlier this month his retirement from the Winston Cup series, said Sunday he hopes to run a 14-race Winston Cup schedule next season with Irvan-Simo Motorsports. Irvan said he hopes to put driver Boris Said behind the wheel of what have been the #14 Fords. Motorsports legend A.J. Foyt announced his plans earlier this month to field a Winston Cup team next season and asked NASCAR for permission to use the #14, which Foyt used in his driving days.
