Cal Wells announced Wednesday that he had hired CART/Trans-Am/IMSA veteran Scott Pruett as the driver of the #32 Tide Ford for next season in the Cup series. Wells was hoping to announce his crew chief on Wednesday, but has had to put that off until Friday. Wells said that he has it narrowed down to two guys that are current NASCAR crew chiefs, but declined to elaborate further. Wells also shot down the rumors surrounding a possible Chrysler effort, or that he was looking at the recently-released Ray Evernham as a crew chief, says he has never met Everhham.( Racer Magazine )
