Not NASCAR but….UPDATE:

there are many NASCAR ties: Seven drivers were transported to Carraway Methodist Medical Center and a total of 15 were treated at the Infield Care Center following crashes in the ARCA race at Talladega on Saturday. Tim Steele was kept overnight for observation after suffering a mild concussion(not something he needs with his history). Cal Wells BGN driver Anthony Lazarro was transported by helicopter with a possible spine fracture. Mark Stahl was transported with a possible fractured shoulder blade, a mild concussion and bruised ankle; Norm Benning with a badly bruised ankle; Mike Ciochetti with a possible shoulder fracture; Doug Reid with a right shoulder injury; and Ed Kennedy with a possible right shoulder fracture. Lazarro was trying to earn experience on the superspeedway before entering the BGN full time in the Cal Wells car next season. He had never run on a track of that size in a stock car, but crew chief Joe Garone was impressed with Lazarros run. He was in the top 10 when the crash occurred( Times-Dispatch ) — UPDATE: One driver injured in Saturday’s Winn-Dixie 300 Automobile Racing Club of America series race remained in the Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., late Sunday. Five other drivers hurt were treated and released Saturday. Tim Steele, who suffered a mild concussion in an early-race accident, was released Sunday morning. Anthony Lazzaro, who will drive in the BGN next season for Cal Wells’ Precision Preparation Inc., suffered a fractured vertabrae. Lazzaro was fitted with a back brace and should be discharged Monday morning. He plans to go to Indianapolis on Tuesday to visit an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation( That’s Racin’ ), The injury will keep Lazzaro out of this week’s Busch race at Rockingham( PitNow )
