Ray Evernham has already picked out his first engine builder for his new Dodge Cup team, but there is no indication yet who it might be. Randy Dorton, head engine builder at Hendrick Motorsports, made clear it would not be him. Chrysler has no U.S. wind tunnel, but Gary Romberg, Chrysler’s head of aerodynamics, is heading an effort to build a wind tunnel by 2001 or 2002. That will be too late to help in the development of new NASCAR Intrepid, so Evernham will have to use the Lockheed tunnel in Marietta, Ga., and a 40-percent scale model wind tunnel run by Reynard in Indianapolis( PitNow )
