Doug Richert, crew chief most of this season for Kenny Irwin in Robert Yates #28 Texaco/Havoline Ford, left the team after Sundays race at Talladega to take up his new duties as crew chief for Cal Wells start-up Winston Cup operation(#32 Tide Ford). Raymond Fox, Yates long-time right-hand man, will run the show for the rest of the season. The Cup team plans to begin testing with Pruett in three weeks at Darlington. Meanwhile, National Speed Sport News reports that Wells has been sued by long-time CART partner Frank Arciero over ownership of Cristiano da Mattas contract( Racer Magazine )
