Insiders say that Richard Petty will return to Chrysler, and he spent a lot of time talking with Dodge executives Saturday in Talladega. Pontiac’s Fred Simmons says he’s not sure just what Petty may do for the 2001 season, but Petty Enterprises will run Pontiacs again in 2000. Simmons says Joe Gibbs’ two-car team is firmly in the GM camp, despite overtures from Chrysler but Gibbs’ is committed to General Motors products(PitNow) — UPDATE: but Petty to Dodge? rumor has it that a three car Petty Cup effort with Dodge will be announced at the SEMA show in Las Vegas(not Phoenix)
