Hut Stricklin will supposedly be the driver with Donnie Allison as the Team Manager. And get this…..Motorsports Safety Technologies is the rumored sponsor. The #58 Motorsports team was housed in the old Tri-Star building, this whole thing could get interesting, if true — UPDATE: Mark Smith, a co-owner in Tri-Star who has never fully closed his shop or his dream of being a Winston Cup owner, is looking into restarting his team with Barbours assets. If he does, Allison plans to join him. Motorsports Safety Technology could be the sponsor. The company signed a four-year contract with Barbour, but miscommunication between the two led to the deal failing and Barbours shop closing six days later. Stricklin had signed on to be the driver for the team. Smiths former crew members spoke highly of the owner yesterday and said they had spoken with him about a return to the sport( Times-Dispatch )
