Penske to buy out Kranefuss? UPDATE 2 Nope:

according to reports, Roger Penske is ready to buy out Michael Kranefuss, half owner of the #12 Mobil One team and driver Jeremy Mayfield. Supposedly Penske wants complete control so he can switch both teams to Dodge at the end of the 2000 season. Dodge would then have six Cup teams, two with Evernham, two with Petty and two with Penske( Speedway Scene Mag /Jack Flowers) — UPDATE: I hear that Roger Penske, Michael Kranefuss and Walter Czarnecki recently denied any desire on anyone’s part to buy anyone out and that they recently said it was completely and totally untrue and they planned on continuing together and planned on winning together — UPDATE 2/REPOST: Rumors of tension between NASCAR team owner Roger Penske and partner Michael Kranefuss are greatly exaggerated, both sides said over the weekend at North Carolina Speedway. Kranefuss, half-owner (with Penske) of the #12 team with driver Jeremy Mayfield, said Sunday morning at Rockingham that he and Penske intend to keep to course as co-proprietors of one of NASCAR’s better racing organizations. Walt Czarnecki, vice president of Penske Racing, strongly reinforced the point( Racer Mag )
