Homestead Testing:

Mike Garvey ran the fastest NASCAR Busch Series lap in testing for the November 13 HotWheels.com 300 at Miami. The 36-year-old driver from Muskegon, Mich., ran a lap of 149.089mph(36.22 seconds) on Wednesday, bettering Mark Martin’s day-old unofficial track record of 148.433mph(36.38). Garvey, driving the #09 LaFavre Racing Chevrolet, was joined by Jeff Fuller in Joe Gibbs’ Pontiac in the final test. A veteran of NASCAR All Pro competition, Garvey finished fourth in the 1999 ASA point standings, winning four races in a car fielded by LaFavre Racing(Homestead-Miami Speedway Newsletter)(11-5-1999)
