Ricky Rudd is putting one of the most consistently successful racing teams in motorsports history on the auction block beginning Wednesday, December 1, and continuing until every part and piece is gone. That will definitely include Thursday, December 2, and probably part of Friday, December 3 as well. Rudd’s team has won every year of its existence but the loss of sponsorship for next season, which Rudd found out late in the fiscal year for most corporations, cost the team a chance to compete next season. Rudd and some team members are moving to Robert Yates Racing, the NASCAR Winston Cup championship team, beginning next year. The auction will begin at Rudd Performance Motorsports at 8 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, and will continue until everything is sold. A preview day is scheduled Tuesday, November 30, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The shop is located in Lakeside Park, just off of Exit 36 on I-77 in Mooresville.
