A University of South Carolina plane that had carried head football coach Lou Holtz on a recruiting trip crashed Sunday night, killing the pilot. The crash killed 65-year-old pilot Dewey Foster, who was also Cale Yarborough Motorsport’s pilot, and injured 77-year-old co-pilot Joseph Baier. Foster, a retired brigadier general, had been a contract pilot for the university for several months before becoming university employee on Dec. 1, McKinney said.
