Rodney Rogers of the NBAs Phoenix Suns is planning to enter NASCAR next year as an owner. Rogers has aligned himself with Winston Cup crew chief Barry Dodson, who heads the #27 Eel River Racing Pontiac team for driver Jeff Fuller. Contacted Friday at the teams Mooresville shop, Dodson confirmed his discussions with Rogers and said he hoped the alliance might enable the two of them to add a second car to the existing operation, which is owned by Massachusetts businessman Jack Birmingham, in 2001. However, Dodson and Rogers would likely wholly own the second car. Rogers know Dodson through his late son, Trey(Gaston Gazette)(1-29-2000)
