The teams of Dale Jarrett and Ricky Rudd were both reeling from the death this week of Dave Kriska, an engineer who had worked at Robert Yates Racing for eight years. Kriska took his own life Tuesday, just two days after Jarrett won the Daytona 500. Yates did not come to the track Friday. Kriska worked on Bill Elliott’s team when it won the championship in 1988 before joining Yates(News and Observer)(2-26-2000)
