Exide will end its affiliation with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck #99 team of Roush Racing when its contract is up at the end of the current season. According to an Exide press release, the battery manufacturer’s decision was based on the current economic climate within the company, and not on team performance. Exide, which also sponsors the Winston Cup car of Jeff Burton, tried to end its relationship with Schumacher just prior to the start of the NHRA season, but later decided to rejoin the team. Schumacher currently leads the Top Fuel points standings and is in the 2nd year of a three year deal with him(SpeedVision)(3-8-2000)
