Waltrip and Christopher: Michael Waltrip, BGN car owner and driver of the #7 BAND-AID® Brand Chevrolet, is expanding his BGN program for the 2000 season to include driver Ted Christopher. Christopher will be behind the wheel this weekend at the New Hampshire International Speedway and will return for the June BGN race at Watkins Glen. Christopher’s sponsor, Les Care Kitchens Inc., and Michael Waltrip Racing have high expectations for one of NASCAR’s most diversified drivers. Les Care Kitchens Inc. and Waltrip agree this relationship is one they would like to see progress. Both parties have agreed to walk before they run, but they also see the potential with Waltrip as a car owner and Christopher as the driver. Waltrip believes the addition of a full time Busch Grand National Team would enhance what he is trying to accomplish in the series. Christopher has competed in pro-stocks, modifieds, the Craftsman Truck Series, Busch North, Busch Grand National and the Winston Cup Series. In 1999, Ted made racing history at Watkins Glen International where he was the first NASCAR driver to enter the Winston Cup, Busch North and Featherlite Modified Series races to finish 33rd, 2nd and 1st respectively. His reputation to race anything, anywhere at anytime is proof of his ambition to be a successful racecar driver. Christopher is excited about the opportunity this weekend at Loudon and also hopes it leads to bigger and better things for his racing career.This is a great opportunity for me.
