Indy Ford Testing UPDATE:

20 Ford teams/35 drivers tested at at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Monday as part of a two day mandatory test. #2-Rusty Wallace was the fastest at 181.217mph late in the afternoon. #28-Ricky Rudd was at 176.663mph and was fastest in the morning and #99-Jeff Burton was at 176.490mph, #88-Dale Jarrett at 176.446mph. #33-Joe Nemechek had the fastest lap from last week’s two-day GM test, at 181.206mph. That unofficially bettered 1994 and 1998 Brickyard 400 winner Jeff Gordon’s track record Bud Pole Qualifying lap of 179.612 mph, set on Aug. 5, 1999.(NOL) UPDATE: a few speeds from Monday’s test session: #2-Rusty Wallace was the fastest at 181.217mph; 2nd was #28-Rudd 179.351mph; 3rd as #99-Burton at 179.231mph, 4th was #88-Jarrett at 179.204mph and 5th was #21-Sadler at 179.184. #9-Stacy Compton blew a tire and crashed in the third-turn wall and bruised his shoulder.
