Testing for NHIS UPDATE:

The #3 RCR team of driver Dale Earnhardt spent most of the day Tuesday at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, a 1/2-mile flat track located outside of Greenville, SC, to test their engine setup for New Hampshire. The two Winston Cup teams Earnhardt owns – those of #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. and #1-Steve Park – are planning to test Wednesday at Milwaukee. Richard Childress, Earnhardt’s car owner, had booked Greenville-Pickens in advance so his BGN driver, Kevin Harvick, could test. Earnhardt’s team joined Harvick’s Tuesday, with Harvick taking turns with both cars, and turning more than 50 laps with Earnhardt’s #3 Chevy(That’s Racin’)(9-13-2000) UPDATE: #99-Jeff Burton and #1-Steve Park tested the new NHIS restrictor plate engines and configurations at the Milwaukee Mile, simulatating restart and qualifying scenarios. In between sessions, Roush Racing and DEI crew members changed transmissions and worked specifically with transmission and rear end gear changes. Park had both cars on hand which will leave Milwaukee and go directly to New Hampshire(TNN and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel).
