Ford to Boost BGN Effort: Ford Motor Company will increase its involvement in the BGN series in 2001. In 2000, the only Ford BGN team to make all the races has been the #98 Akins Motorsports team. A possible lineup of Ford teams in 2001: #98-Akins Motorsports with Elton Sawyer, no sponsor yet; #55-Davis and Weight Motorsports with Michael Ritch driving, needs a sponsor; #?? Roger Penske effort with Ryan Newman as the driver, ALLTEL as the sponsor; #50? Roush Ford with Greg Biffle and Granger; #63 Hensley Racing with Mark Green and Exxon(could switch over by Memphis this year).
