Car owner Rick Hendrick(#’s 5,24,25) said he has been approached with a pitch for a Lowe’s sponsorship but turned it down saying “…Lowe’s will not be sponsoring one of our cars next season.” Lowe’s has two more years on its contract with Childress, but Lowe’s officials said two weeks ago they would be dropping Childress at the end of the season, a move that Childress has disputed(PitNow)(10-6-2000)
