Darrell Waltrip discovered this week he was more hurt than he had thought from an accident during last Saturday’s Winston Cup Happy Hour practice session at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. During the race, Waltrip got out of the #66 BigKmart Ford, saying he “didn’t feel comfortable” and turned the driving duties over to Todd Bodine. On Tuesday, Waltrip visited a doctor and discovered he had a broken rib on his right side. Waltrip qualified his car Friday at Talladega and planned to go the distance in Sunday’s Winston 500(That’s Racin’)(10-14-2000)
