Rudd Tests at Atlanta: #28-Ricky Rudd tested the #28 Texaco Ford at Atlanta Motor Speedway today(1-11-2001) UPDATE: Ricky Rudd became the first competitor of the new year to turn laps at Atlanta Motor Speedway, concluding a two-day Goodyear Tire test on Wednesday. Rick Campbell, Goodyear’s team leader for stock car tire development, said the session was used to test several different compounds in hopes of improving consistency and wear rates AND With an eye toward reducing speeds and increasing competition, NASCAR president Mike Helton announced this week that NASCAR was experimenting with a new aerodynamic package for several tracks, including Atlanta Motor Speedway.
