#6-Joe Bessey was the fastest at Wednesday’s NASCAR BGN pre-season testing at Daytona thru midday lunch break with a speed of 184.155mph in a Pontiac(he usually drove Chevy’s). Next was #92-Jimmie Johnson at 184.121mph and 3rd fastest was #10-Jeff Green at 184.023mph. Johnson, Green and a handful of drivers only spent Wednesday morning at the speedway since their two day test session on Monday and Tuesday was punctuated by rain showers. Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays test session is limited to teams who finished in even positions in the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship standings(owners points). A carburetor restrictor plate measuring 29/32nds of an inch is being mandated by NASCAR, but not the aerodynamic pieces used earlier this month by NASCAR Winston Cup Series teams.
