#48 Driver(s) UPDATE 4:

Local driver Philip Morris finally landed the kind of ride hes been looking for over the past three years. Friday, he was asked by BGB car owner George deBidart to drive his #48 Goulds Pumps Chevy for the upcoming season. “This came out of the blue. Im real optimistic about it.” said Morris. “They have good people there.” Morris will share driving duties with Cup driver Ward Burton who will drive the super speedways and road course ace Butch Leitzinger will drive at Watkins Glen. This position became open when Mike McLaughlin left the Innovative Motorsports team in favor of a ride with the second Joe Gibbs Busch team #20 Pontiac. Morris had been working on pulling double duty in the local Late Model ranks at New River Valley and Southampton, but those deals will be put on the shelf unless “off weekends” allow him to do so.(Racin’ with Russ)(2-6-2001)
