Three RCR Teams in 2002: Richard Childress Racing will run three Winston Cup teams next season, regardless of what has been heard about sponsor Lowe’s and driver Mike Skinner. First of all, both have contracts through 2002, Childress representatives said Friday. Second, Lowe’s, which threatened to pull out of the game last September after a very odd sequence of events, has demonstrated renewed enthusiasm, posting its lumber products brand in primary positions on the #31 car. The driver situation remains unclear for 2002, despite the contracts, with many “speculating” that Skinner will be given other work in the RCR organzation. That may or may not be.
