A Million for a sponsor?

In an exclusive interview this morning, Speedwayillustrated.com spoke with Scott Bryant, owner of Bryant Motorsports, currently out of Richmond, Virginia. Bryant is the one making the million-dollar offer. Bryant Motorsports has been racing for years, currently competing in asphalt late models, but Bryantt wants to take the next step into the NASCAR Busch series. Bryant relates, “We have a bunch of good people right now, we just need the money to tie it all together.” Bryant is already in negotiations to see if buying Ernie Irvan’s Mooresville, NC shops will fit his needs. So how do you make a million dollars? All you have to do is set Bryant Motorsports up with someone who wants to sponsor the team. When the deal is completed, you get a million dollars for your efforts. At first, giving a million dollars worth of the sponsor money away sounds foolish, but through any of the sponsorship agencies Bryant would have to pay at least that much. Bryant said, “We thought, why not get the general public involved? They know far more people and we could make a fan rich in the process!”(more info at the Speedway Illustrated site)(5-14-2001)
