#75 Team Almost Sold? UPDATE 2: hearing that the #75 Galaxy Motorsports team is up for sale and are very close to closing the deal with another new owner who has never been in the racing business(5-7-2001) UPDATE: MRN’s NASCAR Today Radio show reported Tuesday that Geoffrey Bodine was seen with an African-American Couple in the Lowes Motor Speedway garage area who are reportedly buying the #75 Galaxy Motorsports team, Debra Ward is supposedly buying the team and Ward did confirm something is going on. An announcement is scheduled for May 24th(5-9-2001) UPDATE 2: Two Charlotte business people were still negotiating with Darwin Oordt May 21 to purchase Galaxy Motorsports and return the team to NASCAR Winston Cup competition in 2002. Gary Hill, who is involved in various businesses including apparel, and Debbra Ward, an entrepreneur originally from Greenville, N.C., began seriously considering owning a team about 1 1/2 years ago. They began negotiations with Oordt about a month ago. Ward said May 18 their plans were to begin hiring crewmen in August for D. Ward Motorsports. Prior to then, they wanted to concentrate on obtaining sponsorship. She said the team would be based in Mooresville, NC(Winston Cup Scene – need subscription)(5-24-2001)
