#60 Crew Chief, Randy Goss has one of those events this weekend, his daughter’s high school graduation, and even a die-hard racer such himself wouldn’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. In Goss’ absence, Kevin Starland, the Grainger team car chief, will assume crew chief responsibilities on raceday in this weekend’s MBNA Platinum 200 at Dover Downs International Speedway. Goss will be present on Friday for practice, qualifying and “Happy Hour” to get the car setup for Saturday’s race, but he will leave shortly thereafter to head back to Michigan for his daughter’s ceremonies. Starland, Goss and driver Greg Biffle have been together since Biffle’s rookie season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.(Roush Racing PR)(5-31-2001)
