Hank Parker Jr., driver of the #36 GNC Live Well Chevy in the BGN, will visit the Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati (CHMCC) on Thursday, June 14. At 2:00pm/et, Parker will be present as Kohl’s Department Stores presents a $55,000 check for it’s Kohl’s Cares for Kids* program to CHMCC. The Medical Center will dedicate all of its proceeds to the department of Child Life. Child Life at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is one of only a few child life programs in the country. This unique department of dedicated individuals focuses on promoting optimal growth and development in children, reducing the stress of health care experiences, providing support and education to children and their families and advocating for psychosocial care in pediatrics. Child Life plans to purchase 18 new computers for the Bone Marrow and Dialysis Centers located in the new hospital tower opening in summer 2002. Pediatric patients operating the STARBRIGHT World program will use the computers. Parker, who is in town to compete in the inaugural Outback Steakhouse 300 race at Kentucky, will be in attendance to “chat” with Lexington and Cincinnati patients on the STARBRIGHT World program.(Keystone Marketing PR)(6-14-2001)
