Foyt/Hornaday to switch Manufacturers? If there was any question whether the Pontiacs are aerodynamically challenged, it was answered recently at Daytona. The top Grand Prix started 33rd for the Pepsi 400, and two Pontiacs didn’t make the field. Team owner A.J. Foyt can’t take it anymore. “NASCAR’s going to have to do something,” Foyt says. “We can’t go to another superspeedway like this.” And he won’t. Foyt, whose driver Ron Hornaday took provisionals to make the Daytona 500 and the Talladega 500, has threatened to take a Chevrolet to Talladega this fall if changes aren’t made to help the Pontiacs.(Sporting News)(7-16-2001)
