Houston and #11 Split:Marty Houston has parted ways with Highline Performance Group. Any times you have a situation like this its unfortunate for everyone involved, but right now I have to look at whats best for me as a driver trying to build a career in one of NASCARs most toughest series, stated Houston. And whats best for me is to close this chapter of my life and move forward. I am very excited about the future. Houston commented about the direction he was heading with Highline Performance Group, It just didnt make a lot of sense to keep going the way we were going. We all had very high expectations coming into this season and anytime you fall short of those expectations it can be frustrating. Thats what this half of the season was, extremely frustrating. Houston is talking with several Busch teams to finish off the 2001 season. I am very confident in my ability to be competitive at this level and I think for me now is to get involved with a program and a team that has the same level of determination and desire to win as I do. I have a lot to prove to a lot of people and I intend on doing just that. The fires are burning as bright as ever, commented Houston.(Global Performance)(8-9-2001)
