Eel River to Chevy for Talladega? Barry Dodson, crew chief and (#27) team manager for the team Rick Mast drives for, said that he may take a Chevrolet to Talladega next month if NASCAR doesn’t make the Pontiacs more competitive with a rules change soon. Dodson also has canceled the fifth annual Tia and Trey Dodson Memorial Golf Classic, because of last week’s tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The Huntersville charity tournament last year raised more than $10,000 for Motor Racing Outreach, in memory of Adam Petty. This year’s tournament was to support the Rick Mast Rockbridge Area Free Clinic for Underprivileged Children(Winston Salem Journal). AJ Foyt, who owns the #14 Conseco Pontiac also mentioned a few months ago that his team may run a Chevy at Talladega in Oct(9-23-2001)
