Green Honored: The Caterpillar Employee Motorsports Club recently inducted its first member into the newly formed CEMC Hall of Fame. During a CEMC meeting in July the first recipient to receive this honor was David Green, driver of the BGN Welliver-Jesel # 34 Chevrolet. Green drove the BGN # 95 Caterpillar sponsored car in 1996. That year he finished second in the point standings coming within 29 points of winning his second BGN Championship. Also in 1996 he was voted Most Popular Driver, won the Busch Pole Award and scored 2 wins, 4 poles, 13 top fives and 18 top tens. Caterpillar and Green then moved to Winston Cup in 1997. The CEMC also presented a contribution to Motor Racing Outreach in the name of the David Green Family (wife Diane, daughter Kaylie, son Austin).(PR)(10-3-2001)
