Ultra Motorsports owner Jim Smith, who runs the #7 NationsRent Ford, is talking to Dodge about a car make switch for 2002, under the guidance of Evernham. If that happens, expect Atwood to move to the #7 and Mayfield to take over the #19(FoxSports)(11-2-2001) UPDATE 2 – Mayfield to join Evernham: Jeremy Mayfield will join Evernham Motorsports to drive the #19 Dodge in 2002, according to ESPN2’s RPM2Night. Casey Atwood, current driver of the #19 ride, will move to Jim Smith’s #7 Dodge. Team owner Ray Evernham also would buy a part of Smith’s team, which is switching from Ford to Dodge for next season.
