#33 at the Rock: The #33 Chevrolet of Andy Petree Racing will compete in Sunday’s Cup race at North Carolina Speedway [Rockingham]. Petree made the announcement Tuesday. “The fact that we won the last Winston Cup race at Rockingham and the fact that there are a lot of potential sponsors still looking at us led me to believe the best thing we could do is run at least this race,” Petree said. Mike Wallace will drive the car, continuing the stint he began last week at Daytona. Petree did not commit past Sunday’s Subway 400 but did not rule out running the following week at Las Vegas, NV. Autoliv sponsored the #33 car at Daytona in a one-race deal. Petree said he had been talking with Autoliv about future events, as well as several other companies.
