Robby Gordon starts 11th in the Indy 500: Robby Gordon, who is seeking to win the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day, qualified 11th at Indy on Saturday. “I’m a little disappointed with 11th because it’s the farthest back in the field that I have even started from…,” says Gordon, who will also drive Richard Childress Racing’s #31 Cingular Chevy in the 600 that night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. “All qualifying 11th means is that there will be that many more cars I have to pass on the outside as I head into turn one on the first lap.” This week, Gordon expects to test his Indy car on Wednesday and Thursday before flying back to Charlotte for practice Thursday night for The Winston, which is scheduled for Saturday night.(Winston Cup Scene – Daily Newsletter)(5-14-2002)
