Shawna out? UPDATE 2: hearing Shawna Robinson may not return to the #49 BAM Racing Cup ride. Ron Hornaday is in the car for the Lowes Motor Speedway Coca Cola 600 and was in the car at The Winston Open.(5-22-2002) UPDATE: hearing that BAM Racing could field a BGN team for Robinson and keep Hornaday in the #49 Cup car. Hornaday also supposedly may have a sponsor for a team in 2003….NAPA, if they do not re-sign with the #15 DEI team. AND from the Winston Cup Scene: Shawna Robinson will likely return to the BAM Racing Dodge at Michigan June 16, after yielding to Ron Hornaday for the last two events. Robinson’ focus, though, may shift to the Busch Series in an effort to help her adjust to an ill-handling race car. The owners support me 100 percent, theyre very much saying that this is still my ride, Robinson said May 17. Well see what happens after these two events and what direction were going to go. Right now, Im just holding my head high and walking forward.(5-23-2002) UPDATE 2: sources at BAM racing tell me “Everythig is exactly the same here as it has always been Shawna will be back in the car for the Michigan race it was never our intention to remove her from the car.. Ron Hornaday came on board for two races to help Shawna. and the team and we would like to thank him for all that he has helped us accomplish in the last two weeks.”(5-23-2002)
