Barrett up for Stunt Award CORRECTION: Stanton Barrett, who plans to make his season debut in the BGN series Saturday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, has been nominated for a World Stunts Award, a worldwide program that honors the best in movie and television stunt work. The awards show will be televised live by ABC Saturday night. Because of his work in the movie, Jurassic Park III, Barrett was nominated in the “Best Water Work” category. Other movies nominated are Apocalypse Now Redux, American Outlaws, The Animal and Rush Hour 2. Promotion of ABC’ telecast of the World Stunt Awards will be on the rear deck lid of Barrett’ car this weekend. Barrett, a stuntman who has competed in BGN and Cup races previously, formed Red Racing with businessman Jody Looney this year. Red Racing is led by team manager Jeff Hammond, a former Winston Cup crew chief and now Fox Network television commentator, as well as veteran crew chief Richard Lasater. “We have a lot of great things planned this year, and even greater things in 2003. I think we’re off to a great start,” Barrett said.
