Lepage in for Purvis at Lowes UPDATE and the next three races:

Clarence Brewer Jr., owner of Brewco Motorsports, Inc., announced today that Kevin Lepage will drive the #37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet in the CarQuest Auto Parts 300 at the Lowes Motor Speedway on Saturday Lepage will substitute for Jeff Purvis who was injured in the BGN race at the Nazareth last Sunday, May 19th. With the condition of Purvis continuing to improve, and after consultation with team sponsors and the Purvis family, it was decided that the race team should move forward. Brewer stated that the appointment of Lepage is only for the BGN race at Charlotte this Saturday. Purvis, who was injured in a lap 167 accident in the Stacker 2 200 at the Nazareth, remains in the Lehigh Valley Hospital with head, neck, and leg injuries. Purvis scored the first career BGN victory for the #37 Timber Wolf team earlier this season (April 6th) in the OReilly 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway. UPDATE: hearing David Green could be in the #37 after Lowes until Purvis comes back, a little conflicting ‘rumors’ as Green is rumored in the #31 Whelen Chevy at Dover.(5-22-2002)
UPDATE 2: so much for that rumor – Clarence Brewer Jr., owner of Brewco Motorsports, Inc., today named Kevin Lepage to drive the #37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet for the next three BGN races. Lepage, who qualified ninth and finished sixth at Lowe’s Motor Speedway last Saturday, will continue to drive the car at Dover this weekend, Nashville on June 8th, and Kentucky on June 15th. Lepage substituted for Jeff Purvis at Charlotte after Purvis received head, neck, and leg injuries in an accident at the Nazareth Speedway on May 19th.
