Team Rensi Motorsports and Robert Yates Racing announced today the formation of a strategic partnership involving the #98 BGN team sponsored by Channellock and driven Kasey Kahne. Team Rensi Motorsports will assume responsibility for the management of the #98 BGN team, currently operated by Robert Yates Racing. This strategic alliance brings a dedicated focus to the development, progression and success of the #98 Channellock team and offers opportunities for continued growth for Kasey Kahne, as well as Bobby Hamilton, Jr., driver of the Team Rensi owned #25 Team Marines Ford. The partnership, effective immediately, has been endorsed by Ford Racing, Channellock, Robert Yates Racing and Team Rensi Motorsports. Sam Rensi, co-owner of Team Rensi Motorsports, considers the transition to be much like the transplanting of a tree. All assets, personnel, technology and proprietary information of the Yates-operated team will be moved to and reside in Team Rensi Motorsports shop in Mooresville, NC. Rensi feels that the combined efforts of the two teams will be mutually beneficial for both of their racing programs. Robert Yates, owner of Robert Yates Racing, also feels that the partnership could bring both teams even more success. Channellock, sponsor of the #98 team, is excited about the partnership and the success they feel it will bring to their program.(Team Rensi PR)(6-6-2002)
