Purvis goes home UPDATE:

Jeff Purvis, seriously injured in a crash last month at Nazareth, was released from an area rehabilitation facility Wednesday and returned to his Clarksville, TN home to continue physical therapy. Kevin Lepage is driving the #37 Brewco Motorsports Chevy in Purvis’ absence. Several Clarksville youngsters signed a huge get-well car for Purvis, including his sons Thomas and Clay, who wrote, ”Please don’t get back in that race car again!”(Tenneseean)(6-8-2002)
UPDATE: Jeff Purvis is still reluctant to see visitors, but the owner of his Busch Series racing team said the Clarksville driver is making a steady recovery from injuries sustained during an accident in May. ”Our racing program is public, but Jeff’s health is private,” Brewco Motorsports owner Clarence Brewer said. ”Jeff is a private person, and we respect him for that. He doesn’t want people to see him sick and see him hurt. ‘As soon as the halo comes off {in a couple of months], he’ll be 100 percent [physically]. Race car-wise, I don’t know. The doctor will have to say yes or no at that point. Mentally, he’s as sharp as a tack.” Brewer stayed with Purvis in the days following the wreck and has seen a lot of progress.
